Digitalisation and print: worry-free billing for Infomedics

Infomedics - yes, the company behind those recognisable pink envelopes, has made significant strides in recent years in the digitalisation of billing and receivables management. Since its merger with Famed, Infomedics has been working together with AddComm to optimise its customer communication processes.

In this article, you will read how we help relieve the burden for healthcare providers and patients on behalf of Infomedics.

Why Infomedics chooses AddComm

In 2018, medical billing service provider Infomedics merged with industry peer Famed. At that time, AddComm was already responsible for both the physical and digital distribution of invoices for Famed, while Infomedics worked with a different print partner. After the merger, it made sense to work with a single supplier. The question was which one. Infomedics took a careful approach and also evaluated other providers.

“We approached several parties, but ultimately chose AddComm,” says Fred Bloem, Managing Director at Infomedics. “They offered the most favourable terms and were best able to deliver what we expect from a print and communication partner: complete relief and support for both printing and digital billing.”

Automated distribution of invoices and reminders

Infomedics takes care of the entire billing process for healthcare providers, from sending invoices to collections communication. Their approach is based on the first time right principle, with a strong focus on relieving both healthcare professionals and patients. AddComm’s expertise plays a key role in this, across both physical communication and digital channels.

“AddComm not only handles the printing, enveloping and sorting of physical invoices, but also the handover to PostNL,” explains Leendert-Jaap Maan, Project Manager at Infomedics. “Digital customer communication runs fully automated via Flowize. We send invoices and payment reminders by email, including a payment link and an SMS for verification. If an email bounces, the system automatically switches to physical mail. We can fully rely on AddComm to ensure this mail is delivered to PostNL correctly.”

Digitising returned mail

In addition to managing existing processes, AddComm actively thinks along with Infomedics about new solutions to further streamline customer communication. “It really is a joint effort,” says Manager Operations Chantal Ricke. “When we come to them with a challenge, they think with us and are willing to drop everything to support us.”

As an example, she mentions the digital processing of returned mail. “Every day, bags full of pink envelopes are returned to us. Together with AddComm and PostNL, we are now running a pilot to digitise incoming mail. This means we no longer have to open every envelope manually and gain much more control over this process.”

Pleasant and personal collaboration

Fred also sees AddComm as a true partner. “I simply find AddComm a very pleasant organisation to work with,” says the Managing Director. “We would never do business with them if we did not trust their ability to handle our volumes and meet our quality standards. But in the end, you also choose a supplier because it feels right.”

And according to Fred, that is exactly the case with AddComm. “We have open and personal contact. It is great to work with a partner who sees us as an important customer, keeps their promises and responds quickly and thoughtfully to our questions.”
